WPCredits Project

Project Overview

WPCredits is a project I am developing over the course of 15 weeks as part of a program at Fidélitas University. It involves working within the WordPress platform and documenting the entire process—from creating my portfolio site and WordPress.org profile to actively participating in a community contribution area. This site serves as a log and record of that process, with the goal of learning how open-source projects are built and maintained while giving back to the community.

Chosen Contribution Area

Polyglots (es_CR): translating and validating WordPress strings into Costa Rican Spanish.

The Polyglots team is responsible for making WordPress available in hundreds of languages. My work will focus on translating text strings from the platform, its themes, and its plugins, as well as reviewing or validating translations by other contributors to ensure the Costa Rican Spanish is clear, natural, and consistent.

Free Workshop

Contribute as much as possible to the Polyglots team, demonstrating commitment and a desire to help the community.
Translate and validate as many strings as possible during the 15-week period.
